I live in suburban Greater Cleveland with my wife, Diana, and three-year-old Boxer/Terrier mix, Motley. I am currently the Managing Editor of Cleveland Magazine, a monthly publication of Great Lakes Publishing Co. Prior to that, I served as both associate editor and senior editor at the magazine, writing both features and shorter pieces (some of that work can be read via the "jim @ work" and "archive" links above). I started my career in newspapers, working the night police beat at The Morning Journal in Lorain, Ohio.
